Default Fantastic custom build from Matt Mustapick

I can't say enough about this super guitar that Matt Mustapick made for me. It all started with an inquiry I made here at the AGF in early 2011 about the possibilities of making a streel string guitar with classical guitar dimensions. Matt expressed interest in doing the project and the result can be seen in pictures at:

http://mustapickguitars.com/premay12...tt/3/index.htm

specs are:
Engelmann spruce
Indian rosewood
Cocobolo trim
cutaway
soundport
armrest bevel suitable for both left- and right-legged play
scale length 650mm
nut width 52mm
string spacing at bridge 57mm
flat (classical) fretboard radius

This guitar fits my hands absolutely correctly and the sound is spectacular. I find myself fumbling with narrower necks. The minimum width I feel able to play competently is 1 3/4" at the nut. But this guitar is more than just comfortable. I'm not sure how to express it but the sound is *precise*. The sustain is forever, and hearing it through the soundport makes me hear nuances that keep me playing for hours on end.

There are some build pictures at:

This is one great guitar.

Bill

The two of you came up with a marvelous esthetic. Just looking at that instrument would inspire one to play. Congrats.

We started talking about it in March of 2011 and it was delivered in April 2012. I meant to post about it earlier but lost track of the pictures. Matt has been great to work with. This is the second guitar I have had built. The first was by Bill Moll, another happy experience.
