Sponsorships and Commercial use of the Acoustic Guitar Forum
Our Mission: To build and support the acoustic guitar community.

Welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Forum - Founded in year 2000 by J.R. Rogers, the Acoustic Guitar Forum is the world's largest Acoustic Guitar Community with over 33,000 registered users and more than 8000 individual acoustic guitar enthusiasts reading the forum every single day. Sponsoring the Acoustic Guitar Forum gives your company access to interact with thousands of acoustic guitar enthusiasts, post your latest press releases, join in the discussions, and even sell your products. For less than the cost of a classified ad in your local newspaper, you have opportunity to reach a global marketplace with information on your product(s). In a way, being an AGF Sponsor is like having your name at the doorways to a giant convention of acoustic guitar lovers from around the world, many of whom have the interest and the wherewithall to own fine instruments and accessories, often in multiples. It's easy to see how you can build a thriving business using the AGF Community as your primary means of exposure. Please note that sponsorship is required to represent your business on the Acoustic Guitar Forum, but all proceeds go to support the operations of our fine community.

Sponsorship levels:
Sponsor (Luthier / Small Builder): $299/yr Designed for the small luthier / independent guitar builder or accessories manufacturer, this membership allows you to gain exposure for your brand and products through discussions on the acoustic guitar forum. No classifieds access. (Note: This is designed for small builders who create up to 50 guitars per year. Larger Manufacturers, please see below.)

Sponsor (Luthier / Small Builder + Classifieds): $499/yr Designed for the small guitar builder or accessories manufacturer who wishes to sell directly to AGF members, this membership allows you to gain exposure for your brand and products through discussions on the acoustic guitar forum, and use the Acoustic Guitar Forum classifieds to sell your products.

Sponsor (Corporate / Large Mfg): As above, but includes your logo and link on the right hand side of the AGF. This is designed for mid-large size manufacturers looking for maximum exposure for your products. For more information and pricing, please contact the AGF owner J.R. Rogers

Forum Rules

Message from the Administrators - Welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Forum! There are two rules that you must always follow on the Forum:

1) BE NICE! The Acoustic Forum is a happy place. Mean people are not welcome here. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Treat others with respect. If you bumped into each other in the guitar store, you'd probably be cordial. We ask that you be the same way here. The people on the forum are your neighbors, and share similar love for music and guitars. *Please refrain from "brand-wars", or discussions on which brand of guitar is better than the other.* The philosophy at the Acoustic Guitar Forum is that the best guitar for YOU is the guitar that you fall in love with - the guitar that speaks to you. Tone is such a subjective thing... What sounds great to one person might not sound so good to another. That's okay! If you can make music with it, if you love it, it's the right guitar for YOU! Guitars are "emotional" products. At the Acoustic Guitar Forum, we respect each other no matter what brand of guitar we play. This is a family-friendly forum. Vulgar, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate language or content (pictures, etc.) has no place on this forum. Messages considered by the Administrators or Moderators to be inappropriate will be deleted without warning.

2) NO GUITAR PRICING DISCUSSIONS: We respectfully ask that you keep guitar pricing discussions offline. We think pricing discussions in this forum can hurt dealers and ultimately hurt customers. When someone posts that they bought a guitar for from dealer XXXXX XXXXX, that suddenly sets the price for a lot of other dealers to have to match to stay competitive. It doesn't matter if the more expensive dealer offers better service or value-adds, has a nicer display room where the instruments are better cared for, etc. If "Cow Warehouse Guitars" is selling the same guitar for less money, many people are going to buy it. Now if you were the guy that just got great service buying your first Taylor guitar from your local dealer, you're so excited, you come online to see what other people are saying about this guitar and you find out that someone else just paid a few hundred less for the same model, how are you gonna feel?

We don't ask much from the members here, but we will probably always ask you to use email if you want to discuss prices. We think that dealers should be free to have a relationship with their customers without feeling like they are held hostage by a post on an Internet forum. We simply don't want our forum to be used for that. Besides... How hard is it to post "Need pricing advice on a 714CE. Email me at blah@blahblah.com"?

GENERAL GUIDELINES

We respect your opinions and you are welcome to express your opinions in a thoughtful and respectful manner. At times we all disagree, but it's the manner in which we disagree that is important. Slander, harassment, belittlement, hatefulness, racism, sexism, threats, degrading comments, insults & flames will not be allowed.

Please keep in mind that we have members of all ages. In addition to what's listed above, please do not post messages or images that are obscene, vulgar, or sexually-oriented, or may be in violation of any local, state, federal or international laws. This includes but is not limited to: links in your signature, profile, posted images, photos and avatars. No swearing will be allowed in posts. This includes masking of text using symbols instead of letters (ie. ****, @#$%, etc…). We, the Staff, will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

Some topics (ie. religion & politics, etc.) can create very strong feelings & reactions, therefore religious & political discussions will not be allowed on the general forum. If any discussion becomes too heated or turns political or religious, the thread will be closed or edited at the discretion of the Staff.

Do not start fundraisers on the forum, advertise raffles for your local church, etc.

We require that you respect the privacy of others. Using the forum as a way to obtain e-mail addresses to solicit sales, donations, etc., is strictly prohibited.

*** ATTENTION DEALERS *** You may NOT use the Acoustic Guitar Forum to represent your business. Commercial participation is reserved for manufacturing sponsors.

*** ATTENTION Manufacturers *** You Must be a sponsor to represent your company on the Acoustic Guitar Forum. (See above information on sponsorships or contact us for more information: here)

Commercial Links: The AGF is a non-commercial forum, we strictly prohibit commercial links in signatures. The only commercial links we allow are from Sponsors. However, we do make an exception when it comes to individual artists or band links, as this is a community for musicians.

If you feel a post is in violation of any of these guidelines, please report it to a moderator immediately.

CLASSIFIEDS POLICY

The Acoustic Guitar Forum is a place for guitar enthusiasts to get together and discuss the instruments they love. All other functions are secondary to this goal. Specific Classifieds Rules are contained at the top of that section of the AGF. The Acoustic Guitar Forum is NOT an online marketplace. The Classifieds section of this forum is provided as a secondary courtesy to allow you to place classifieds for guitar-related items for sale. We do not provide a secure transaction environment. The actual transactions and interactions are, and should be, entirely separate from this forum. This is NOT a trading community. As a result, since it is part of the transaction, transaction feedback, positive and negative, is NOT WELCOME.

SPAMMING & TROLLS

No spamming will be allowed. If you are caught spamming the board or the members, you will be banned.

What is a troll?

A troll is a person who enjoys causing discord in communities like ours. They will *flood* the board with meaningless posts in an attempt to start arguments and generally upset members of the board.

Trolls will not be tolerated. If you are deemed a troll by the moderation team, your membership will be deleted.

A quick reminder regarding trolls. The best way for the membership to deal with trolls is to ignore them. If you ignore them, they don't get the responses that they crave. So, please ignore the trolls. Feel free to Private Message (PM) a Moderator or report the post so that it can be removed and the troll dealt with accordingly.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The Staff reserve the right to delete or edit any posts. The Staff also reserves the right to suspend and/or ban any member that doesn't follow the Board Guidelines. Staff decisions are final and the Staff has complete discretion over what is and is not acceptable on the site. Public discussions of Staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a Staff decision, please take it up in private with a member of the Administrative/Moderation team.

Failure to follow these guidelines with result in immediate disciplinary action. This will be in the form of a warning, suspension, or permanent banning from the forums.

Please keep in mind, you are only allowed one account on the forums, if you are banned from the forum, you will not be allowed to re-register using a different user name.

Lastly, in the event of a disciplinary action, Charter Membership fees will not be reimbursed.

THE FINE PRINT

How to post a picture
How do you insert a picture into your posts? The picture must be held on a website: you may not post an image directly from your computer. There are a number of websites where you may upload pictures for free such as photobucket and flickr.

Locate the image (on the web) that you'd like to display in your post, right-click on it and select Properties from the menu. Copy the entire address (URL) of the image to your clipboard [Ctrl-C]. In your post, click on the Insert Image icon (The yellow box with the mountains). A prompt will appear asking you for the URL of the image. Paste the link you copied to your clipboard [Ctrl-V], then click OK. This will insert the image into your post. (Note: You wont see the image until you preview or submit your post.)

Registered members may easily upload images of their Acoustic Guitars to our gallery at The Acoustic Gallery
