Post First EP release, Critics please?

Hi all you people on AGF!
Im planing on release my first acoustic guitar EP. Have 2 out of 5 songs up on my Soundcloud account.
"Moments in between" and "Memories"
It's an EP dedicated to a beloved one, that passed away some months ago.

UNFORTUNATELY im no guitar player (or im self thaught). Im a drummer from the beginning. But really loves to play the guitar !

Would really mean alot to me if you guys/girls would listen to these two songs, and maybe wrote back some critics, about the songs?

If you by somehow would like what you hear, it would really mean alot if you shared it around, to your friends or so

Thanks for your attention!

First of all, I think you're a fine guitar player.

The rhythm guitar parts are tight and enjoyable. I also liked your electric lead guitar. I don't think your acoustic lead is up to the same par as the rest and could use some work.

I really enjoyed "Memories".

On the other hand, "Moments in Between" has less "meat" and sounds like it could use more work. I'd call that a sketch rather than a real tune.

You asked for opinions, so remember that's what these are

Moments In Between - I like it. It's very open which is a sound I usually like. It might help to vary the rhythm part by taking it out or changing it up somehow. The song gets kind of repetitive by the end. But the basic structure is great! I like the sweetness of the lead parts--there should be more of those.

Memories - Again very good texture and layering. The overall sound is very close to MIB due to the similarity of the picking pattern. The different layers/voices add nice depth. To my ear, the electric part is a bit harsh and jarring. I could see a gentler use of the electric as a really nice new color.

Those were the two you mentioned so they're the ones I listened to. I think they both have a lot of promise. Good luck with your release!

The pieces are atmospheric mood music rather than songs with a melody and a story to tell - new age. That is fine if that was entirely your aim.

My thoughts are pretty much summed up in this post.

Both pieces are pretty, but repetitive and lacking a hook.

Okey, thanks for mention that!
My aim in fact, was actually to have the "acoustic" leads, (as some kind of a voice). Since i don't sing.
But thanks for the opinions and it means alot that you guys like it!

Stylistically, you are consistent, which is a good thing, IMO. Memories, I kind of like.

I think you did a great job on them. Everything doesn't have to be an epic journey. Most of life isn't. If a song expresses what you are feeling I think it has done its job and I think these do.
