Default X7 - Thoughts on the 5th Day

So I received my Emerald X7 on Tuesday.. The attention to detail on these is amazing.. from my first strum it reminded me of the Taylor sound, it’s happy and begs to be played!

Although it’s the smallest of the Emerald guitars it produces really deep and intricate sound! I’m really impressed with this beauty!!

I thought that it might have a plastic or tinginy sound, but I was way wrong! It has a familiar sound that to the untrained ear couldn’t differentiate between a solid wood guitar.

So far I’m really impressed and have become a Carbon convert!

Glad you're digging it. I'm into my fifth month with mine and all of my other acoustics have flown the coop. I had an X20 I also loved, but the X7 is the one I was constantly reaching for. The short scale is awesome to me for everything other than playing with a capo up around the 5th fret or higher, but I pretty rarely ever do that anyway. It sounds as good or better than the X20, if not quite as big, but it sounds plenty big and loud for my purposes. AND, it's small and travel friendly.

Keep enjoying it!

-Ray

Congratulations. You have just joined a very happy crew of X7 players. I have a thin-bodied electric 7 and it's become my guitar of choice.

Default different shades of amber?

Great choice! Beautiful amber!! Is it my imagination or are there different versions of amber? Because mine seems a little redder.

Yes, there are. Alistair mentioned in one of the shipping videos that Emerald uses different shades of amber to match the veneer tops.

I'm fully convinced that my blue X7 V2 is a lot darker than my last X7 V1, not that that has anything to do with your Amber X7.

So John, just for the record, are you stating that
Emerald has gone... colorblind?JK This may have something to do with his/her amber

LOL...no I think Emerald knows exactly what they are doing, I just wonder how exact their measuring is when it's time to apply the tint.

Glad you're happy with your X7 Chris.

Good thing, too, because the Rainsong sold the day after you told me you won! A true win-win

Anyway, be forewarned, once you go carbon.........
