Seems like Gibson tries some new models every few years, but the market doesn't seem to like change... that's my guess, anyway. I recently picked up a used 2017 Gibson 635 W, which was part of a new line of 'high performance' guitars, and that thing smokes! It's one of the better necks I've ever played and it has a good, clear, distinct tonal quality... but that line was also discontinued. I just don't think there is a big enough market to support these attempts to broaden the line.
