I think Kentucky Dave hit the nail on the head, flying with super speed, being able to travel back in time (problem with that is you wouldn't be able to get back to the present though) so you would have to use this gift wisely, would you really want to be stuck in the year 1937 with your Martin D28?

I guess he did, but in theory, I don't think you can go forward in time? You Physicists can chime in and prove me wrong about that one. But yeah, if you could go back and then come back to the present, there'd be lots of advantages for having that power,

Flying, like I do in my dreams from time to time.

But I always have to "remember" how to do it ........"The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss".

Douglas Adams (Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy).

my meager understanding is that traveling fast won't take you backwards in time. it just makes time move slowly.

Well yeah, but not in the Superman comics... And we're talking superpower choices, so why not go for the gusto?

I think you are right, I think that's why they call it the arrow of time. The only real way to go back in time would be through a wormhole,

ok. time travel is fun to think about. like ...suppose you could go back when man was first becoming socialized......still living in caves and drawing pictures on cave walls. What could you teach him at that early stage that would prevent war and man-made suffering? Anything?

You really couldn't prevent anything in the current light cone (time space), the present that we currently exist in. If you changed something in the past, you would have created a different light cone to occur and evolve independently. Our current existence would remain unchanged,

well I would have peace in my light cone. And all my friends would be warned to stay away from your light cone.

I'll retract my argument against realistically traveling back and forth in time, if you had super powers, you'd be able to conquer physics restraints. I like the idea of instant travel, that would be very useful, think of Samantha Stevens the witch,
