Taylor X15/Jumbo Owners sound off...
I am contemplating the purchase of a new 315ce. My main purpose will be in leading worship, both with a full band and for small groups... what do you think of their versatility, sound, playability, etc...?

I recently traded for a 615ce and i am really enjoying leading worship with it. I lead both with a band and at times just me and the guitar, and i find that in the later situation, the fullness of the jumbo body really helps. Compared to the 814ce I had before, the 615ce has a deeper, more solid tone and more bottom end, while the 814ce has more of a shimmering tone. When I was using the 814ce, I frequently have to add bass in the eq to get a fuller amplified sound. With the 615ce, we've had to dial DOWN the bass on occasion.

I have a 415ce and love it. I just had it set up and plays even better....I've even used it to play a little grass and it held it's own...(not overpowering like the Martins but held it's own)...
I've been contemplating trading it off (because I like the Auditorium style better) but the more I play it the more I want to keep it....It sounds beautiful...

My 615ce is my main gigging guitar now. I love how a jumbo sounds live...particularly maple. If you play live I highly recommend a Taylor jumbo.

I have a Taylor Jumbo 12 string. Does that count? I have owned a 415 in the past and it had a great tone and was very playable in other words typical Taylor low action. My 12 string is just amazing in tone and looks!
I have a custom jumbo coming, a cedar/rosewood combo. I can't wait!

One more vote for Taylor jumbo 12s. My 455 makes me sound twice as good as my 810. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w...0/IMG_1040.jpg

I just happen to own the best 815C on earth! And this is not just my opinion, but a documented fact . It is a legend in my own mind.....
BIG body = BIG sound I like BIG guitars. My 614CE and my K20C are gettin neglected lately. Seriously, though - You can't go wrong with a Jumbo - Great volume and bass. You just have to be sure that the size will be comfortable for you while playing it. The jumbos are a little big for some people, and can be a tad uncomfortable if you're not long armed enough.
