Default Leo Kottke and David Lindley

Anybody else see Leo Kottke and David Lindley at the Kirkland Performance center in Kirkland, WA last night? It was a great show! Leo was great and very funny as usual. I've never seen him play an entire concert standing up before, tho. Also, he didn't play any slide this time around.

I wasn't very familiar with David Lindley, other than I knew he used to back up Warren Zevon and Jackson Browne, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pretty impressed. He played Oud, Bouzouki, and a couple of different lap steel guitars. He plays a mean electric Oud .

They are going to be playing a few more dates together. I'd recommend catching them if you have the chance.

Glad you liked it. Leo is my fav, and a real treat to see live. I have seen him about 8 times, and he only stood up once. I just can't see how Fingerstyle players can do that. Sure would save me on a few aches , when playing for long time. Also, I downloaded a fairly recent Leo show from dimeadozen and he mentioned that he lost his slide. I wouldn't think it would take him long to get another AcoustaGlide Slide like he uses, but..... maybe . Did he play a new song titled "Ants"? It is great!!

You're the first guy I've heard mentioning this album. I've thought I'm the only one listening to it.

I have always considered Lindley one of the most inventive musicians of the past 30 years or so... a true innovator

David Lindley told a story about how, when playing with Kaleidoscope, they use to like to play songs in 7/8 time and watch the people who were high try to dance to them .

Hay DavidG

I was there. Sorry for the late reply, its been a busy week. I liked both and have another out of pring David Lindley cd...with The Iguanas. As David played I just felt like we were sitting in his living room listening. I think Leo was about to play some slide then tossed it on the rug and foregot. Great stories from both. KPC is a great little venue. Hope you were there for Dave Masion a couple of weeks ago?

Unfortunately, I missed Dave Mason. I would have loved to have seen him. This was my first time at KPC, but I'm sure it won't be my last.

Karla Bonoff, singer song writer, will be at KPC Saturday night. She wrote hits for Bonnie Rait, Linda Ronstadt and others. Her voice is very similar to Linda Ronstadt and Rosanne Cash.

They did one song together, otherwise it was two separate acts.
