Default My Original Song "Songs From That Place" - finally documented a performance

My old song previously titled "Time Of Your Life" and now titled "Songs From That Place". First song I ever wrote. Must have been 1977 or thereabouts. We were just kids then partyin' and having fun. Wanted to capture a piece of that time in song and take it with me into my old age.....

Way to go Gil, nice job. How's your Guild making out? I see yours is a year older than my D-55. I shoulda gotten a sunburst.

Thanks for reminding me. I really do need to record something with the old Guild. I've owned it since 1980 and it's been with me a long time. When my best friend's house was robbed and all his music equip. stolen I gave the Guild to him to use. He used it for about 7 years and gave it back to me.

Gret old guitar. Different sound than the Martin.

Those are good lyrics for someone at that age.

Love the sound - what's the mike?

All the stuff I've written over the years has dated in style to 70s, 80s, 90s but that flatpicking Neil Young stuff seems timeless.

Thanks! I use a Sony ECMMS907-Digital-Recording-Microphone. It is a stereo mic with a 5 ft. cord and a mini jack. I plug it in to my broadcast quality Sony DCR-TRV900 digital camcorder. This enables me to get the camera positioned correct and get the mic placed up close and pointed up to in between the guitar sound hole and my mouth. I use the 120 degree angle switch.
This mic does a great job but you have to capture and master the video in MPEG-2 format with 16/48 LPCM uncompressed audio to preserve the quality. Using a compressed audio format such as MP3 compromises the quality.

See mic here:
