Boomerang/RC50 inquiry
Just noticed a special on Boomerangs ($80 less than usual - only $50 more than what the new JamMans are going for) and was wondering about the comparison to the new Boss floorboard unit looper. Any of you have experience with both units? I have a new JamMan, but hate that it doesn't have dual loop functions.

I'd wait. Boomerang is introducing a new model soon. I have the RC-50 and think it is great, but it does have a severe flaw--1/2 second delay before a live loop plays back. Fortunately, I am mostly using it for prerecorded loops. I love the ability to bring in (and out) three different parts (e.g. bass, drums, another rhythm part). I also like being able to control the volume of the loops without affecting the guitar signal.

This looper issue just gets more and more complex! Any more info on when a new Boomerang is due out? I was about sold on the JamMan over the RC-20XL (the RC50 is just a little too spendy) and then I hear about a concern like this, with the JamMan, which is the kind you never know about until you get into using it and find out what it does NOT do. Plus, the new Boss RC-2 is out now!.... Oh well; I'll stay tuned for more info...

I just happened to see this thread. Here's a reply I received from Mike at Boomerang about the new model:
We will be releasing an effects pedal and a new looper, the Rang(TM) III, around 1 Dec 06. The looper will have true stereo recording, vastly improved audio specs, long record time, 6 loops, multi level undo/redo, multiple loops can play synched or unsynched, and a slew of "utility" features such as an octave down effect for creating bass parts, auto fade out, metronome, etc. We will insure that the pedal is as easy to operate and intuitive as the current one, but it will be deeper if you want to explore the new functions. It will be slightly larger than half the size of the Rang(TM) Plus! There will be no MIDI or USB connectivity
