Boss GT8 vs. POD XT Live
Hi everyone:
I am looking for input from those of you who have had the chance to hear and/or use both of these units. I am wondering which unit was most capable of capturing the true tone of the amps it is trying to model? I am also wondering about ease of use? Any and all input would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Dave-
I have a GT8 and chose it, tone-wise, over the XTL. The GT8 has good pre-amps and a fantastic range of stompbox models. However, the XTL is signicantly easier to program and has a larger / more active user community. You might want to consider Digitech's new modeller, too -- the GNX3000. It's pre-amps are supposed to be pretty spiffy. Check out this article for a good head-to-head of the GT8, XTL, GNX3K : http://www.thestompbox.net/Home/View...x?ArticleID=21 |

I'll second the GT8. Check out bossgtcentral.com @ the forums for plenty of reviews & comparisons with other leading FX brands. Also, the advantage of the GT8 over others is the ability to use the '4CM' which allows you to switch between the amp & the GT8's preamps. Well worth a peakat
good luck with it!
