Our premium model in a stunning all-acacia build.

So similar in appearance and tone to the venerable Hawaiian koa, acacia gives so much character to 1Ac.dlx. With its striking grains and sheer beauty, this model takes on any guitar in terms of looks. And we mean even guitars costing over 10 times more.

While less direct than spruce, the M-Jumbo shape ensures this guitar packs some volume and punch.

We also selected purpleheart for the fretboard and bridge. The purplish hue of this timber makes the guitar a true visual treat.

What is the M-Jumbo shape? Well, it is our slightly modified Jumbo. While not as large as the SJ-200, it does have a wider lower bout (16-1/2") than a dreadnought.

What styles would the 1Ac suit? This is a bigger sized guitar and is actually very versatile. From strumming to fingerstyle, the 1Ac feels at home. We particularly like the hardwood top as it does not sound like it's "breaking up" even with a heavier attack.

Does the guitar sound as good as it looks? Yes, definitely. You're getting a boutique build quality for a very sensible price.

Is this guitar very big and unwieldy? While the M-Jumbo shape is indeed larger than a dreadnought, it feels more like a GA size due to the duo-bevels. The arm and rib bevels combine to shave off up to 50mm in terms of feel but you still get the presence and volume of the full 125mm body depth.

The M-Jumbo shape with ergonomic bevels provide unrivalled comfort yet packs sheer power for players who want more projection and volume.

On paper, this guitar would seem too heavy, too big and too uncomfortable to play. But try it, and you’ll see that it feels more like a GA thanks to the meticulously crafted duo-bevels.

The 1SR Deluxe comes in either a Sitka Spruce top (sourced from Canada) or an Alpine Spruce top (sourced from Switzerland).

There are some slight tonal differences between the two types of spruce tops. Alpine spruce has more headroom and takes a harder attack while the Sitka top is more balanced and sounds a tad brighter.

Visually, the Alpine spruce looks lighter with vertical grains while the Sitka top is "creamier" in colour with silking found on the top.

No right or wrong when it comes to guitars. It's really personal preference.
