Default Car shopping - endgame....

Last Saturday I drove an hour south to the "import auto mall" - looked around for quite a while and came away with two thoughts - one, don't want a smaller car, and two, nothing but a Honda.

Found a dealer that had a 2023 Accord at a great price, and gave me a little more than I expected on a trade (I didn't want to go through the hassles of selling for an extra 2k this time)

Number 17 has been the best car I've ever owned, hoping 18 is just the next step in the evolution

Getting up EARLY in the morning to drive 2 1/2 hours to pick it up.

Very nice! Enjoy it in good health!

My red 1988 Accord hatchback was the best car I ever owned. Back then, they used to say that Accords were Mercedes quality at a third of the price. I always thought I'd buy another, but somehow haven't gotten around to it. Good luck. Nice color too.

Lovely looking car! Does it come as an estate ? I had two Accord estates, great cars. Hybrid or plug-in?

They discontinued Accords in the UK/Europe after the 6th or 7th generation.

That's too bad they discontinued the Accord - I wish the UK would send that Honda E here!

This is just the entry level LX, so straight gas, but my current LX is at 41.5 mpg for the first 23k I've driven it, so pretty light on the petrol!

Congrats! Honda makes excellent cars.
I don't know that I would have the courage to give up on a great car like your Number 17, but I know from previous posts that you like to flip them often (not to be taken literally )
On the positive side, it looks like these Hondas are still made in the same factory in OH, so chances are it will also be just as good if not better!
Enjoy the new car smell! I haven't experienced that in a long while.

Just got back - really nice car - seems bigger on the inside than the 2020. I know there's more headroom.

I was surprised that it has remote start standard - thought you had to go to the EX to get that!

Only disappointment is the audio input is no longer USB - they've gone to USB-C so I have to get an adaptor.

Good news - the 140 mile trip home was 46.2 mpg (and it's not a hybrid)

Congrats on the new wheels, Todd! Can't go wrong with a Honda. My wife and I are on our 4th Odyssey in a row now. It's our "pickup truck with a roof". We can even fit two smallish kayaks inside with the second row seats removed. And these things get 31 mpg on I-95 at 75 mph.

Best of luck with it - - but you won't need luck.

Hi again, I may be wrong, but I don't think that there are many (if any) new petrol or diesel cars available now.

Every brand made for the European market has gone over to Electric, or Hybrid.
Certainly no Honda "plain petrol" cars available.

My neighbour works for Rolls Royce who are no longer making non petrol driven cars and he is test driving their new electric versions.

My bad - I thought that was what they called gas across the pond - was trying to be "cute".

For those that haven't seen it - this is Honda's cute little E car I was speaking of.

Congrats on your new Accord. I am a fan of the small electric Honda car too.
Will check them out when they become available. Enjoy your new ride.

Very nice. I had not seen a new Accord, but that one looks great. Love the color!

I've had a 1983, 1991, and 1997 Accord amongst the 12 Hondas I've owned. All great cars, especially the '91.
