Default A 00 version of the 000-17 whiskey sunset?

Any idea what Sierra is playing? Looks like a 00 body rather than a 000. Sounds like monel strings or dead 80/20s. It's definitely got the right timbre for my playing style.

Ahh... It's a 12 fret. So what is it?

Martin made a 00-17 Whiskey Sunset for a few years. It was a 12-fret version, but if I remember correctly they also did it in a 14 fret version as well.

Correct... and they also had a 12-fret 0 IIRC.

Many thanks! There's absolutely no chance of me finding one of those in the UK!

Didn't those guitars come stock with the "silk and steel" Martin strings to simulate the old sound the OP is speaking of?

When I first started investigating small bodied 12-frets, I tried the 12 fret 00 when they first came out in PMT in Bristol - best Martin I've ever played, but I was starting my search and ultimately my head got turned by a Taylor 712e. Those 00-17s never come up on the market now. I have seen a 14-fretter for sale once and the dread version too, but never a 12-fretter. Oddly enough, I went to see Martin Carthy recently and his support act played one, equipped with a K&K. They guy really loved his. Not my video, but it gives you an idea of what it sounded like on the night:
