Default The Heart of Saturday Night - Tom Waits cover

I'm sure this has been done a dozen times, but I did this today in my little room trying out a single mic recording (again). Not easy to get it aimed right to balance vocals and guitar (and my voice comes and goes these days).

And, the mic is at a distance to keep it out of frame - another test/work in progress as I try to see what's possible. Adds a bit of environmental noise but mostly noticeable just at the end.

Oh, yeah, I haven't done it at open mics recently so instead of "sweet one" I blurted out "sweetie" (and wondered what I'd just done for a second). I just went with it the 2nd time .

Really nice. I like your voice a lot. I thought the recording was very good. Could use some adjustments to the lighting on the video but it did work well with your easy-going vibe.

Well, thank you!

The lighting is a couple of those aluminum reflector things plugged into the wall and aimed to the side and front walls, and the ceiling fan (turned off!) bulbs overhead. And a pile of "looks" FX in Final Cut Pro X, which certainly over-darkened it as it went to a high contrast b&w. At that point, with the AC off and no fan in an upstairs room, I was trying to hide my glistening skin

Thanks a lot for the listen and compliment! (I know you covered this over at UMGF some while back and I'm pretty sure that's what nudged me into learning it.)
