Perfect fourths
I'm just trying to figure out some guitar theory here.
It seems that all the strings are perfect fourths of each other except the "G" "B" string jump. I'm of course talking about the basic E A D G B E tuning. I'm sure this has to do with making the guitar more playable or I've just drank too much diet Coke. Am I wrong? Can anyone help? Stan |

Tune your guitar to fourths for all strings (E A D G C F). Now, try to barre chord a minor chord. It's amazing what that one half step drop on the 2nd string does for playability.

Thanks.
I'm such a newbie and I hate to ask "obvious" questions. I appreciate your input. Stan |
