SOLD - RAINSONG WS1000 2001, Excellent Condition, 1 Owner
RainSong WS1000, built in December, 2001 in the USA, Serial #5281. I bought it new in January 2002. It's in excellent condition, rarely taken out of my home (non smoker). Includes Fishman Prefix electronics which has both undersaddle and microphone pickups, with an onboard preamp/blender. I have the receipt and all the paperwork that came with it - a CD, care instructions, booklet with specs, warranty card, Fishman user's guide.
Carbon Fiber guitars are known for being unaffected by temperature and humidity. Great for travel, outdoor use, etc. RainSong is one of the oldest and most respected makers of this type of guitar. I've had several nice guitars - Santa Cruz, Collings, Martin, Larrivee, etc. I think this one sounds great, looks great, plays easily, and has a very comfortable neck. I describe it as having a full, balanced, lively tone. I played a RainSong while on a trip and ordered one when I got back home. I lived in Colorado then, and was tired of the constant battle with low humidity. Many guitars have come and gone over the years, but I've always held on to this one. I'm going to less expensive guitars as I get older. Also to 12 fret guitars, which are better for my shoulder problem. That's why this one's for sale. I ordered it without a case, but am including a molded TKL case that fits the guitar well. The case is in good condition except for some damage which is visible in the pictures. The guitar wasn't in the case when the damage occurred, the case was like that when I bought it. I'll put on a new set of D'Addario EXP light gauge strings. Condition: Very little fret wear. Even though 18 years old it hasn't been played much, I always had several guitars and mandolins in the house. I can find only two cosmetic flaws, plus some light pick marks and small "shirt button" marks on the back. One flaw is a 3/8" scratch about an inch from the electronics on the upper bout. The other looks like a "dimple" in the top, about 1.5" from the edge on the treble side of the lower bout. It's smaller than a dime. You only see it from certain angles, and though it looks like a dimple, it's not an actual depression in the finish. I think it's a flaw from the factory that I didn't notice at first. I don't think it's from impact, or there would be a depression in the finish. There's a picture showing the scratch, and one showing the location of the "dimple". I tried but could not get it to show in a picture. Please excuse the glare issues, I did the best I could. Appearance is subjective of course, but it's a striking looking guitar. The finish is high gloss black with a herringbone pattern which I think is inherent in the material. The rosette is abalone, the fret markers and headstock inlay are MOP. People ask me why there are sharks - I think it's because the company started in Hawaii, and later moved to the Pacific NW. Specs: LB/UB 15.75"/11.5" Body depth/length 5"/19.5" (Almost as big as a Dread, but has always felt smaller and easier to hold sitting down for some reason. Maybe because the waist is smaller) 1.75" nut, 25.4" scale length (Standard Martin Dread/OM scale length) 14 frets clear of the body Gotoh 1:18 tuners Nut, saddle, bridge pins are Tusq (with abalone dots on pins) String spacing at bridge is 2 3/16" by my measurement. Action: .11"(7/64) /2.75mm at 6th string 12th fret .09"(5/64)/2.25mm at 1st string 12th fret This is my first ad on AGF, but I've bought and sold several instruments on Mandolin Cafe'. I'm a long time member of both forums. PayPal is acceptable, and I'm an experienced shipper. I'm available by PM, text, phone, email and video chat. I'm located in the Tampa Bay area (near Clearwater) in Florida, if you happen to be in the area. rfloyd99 at g mail. Price is $1,675 shipped to the lower 48 by USPS, insured. There are threads here where all three shipping options are praised as well as condemned. I've never had a problem shipping instruments with USPS. If you prefer a different service, let's talk. This was built before they came out with the N2 neck. Many prefer the original neck, it's not as thick as the newer one. By thick, I mean it's more of D shape. The older one has less depth from the fingerboard to where your hand (or thumb) hits the neck. I've always considered it one of my favorites of all the neck shapes I've owned over the years.
PM me if you have any questions, we can talk on the phone if you'd like.

Well done
This may be your first ad on the AGF, but you have posted one that sets a good example. Excellent detail provided and good images for prospective buyers to examine. Well done, Sir.
I have owned a Rainsong for many years and think they are a perfect choice for avoiding humidity and temperature problems. Best of luck with your sale.

Before I posted it for sale I started a thread asking for advice on what an ad should include. I tried to follow every suggestion.
Thanks for the feedback!
