Default Tonedexter and Taylor’s current expression system

How well does the current version of Taylor’s pickup work with the Tonedexter pedal? I’m planning to get a Tonedexter and I’m also shopping for a new guitar. Thanks!

My wife has a GS Mini with ES2. It works pretty well.

Even though the guitar punches above it's weight in a very usable sound, I have found it is tough to capture it well with a mic - therefore limiting a bit the quality we've been able to get (so far). I imagine a full size Taylor should sound quite good.

Do you get a better sound from the K&K pickup you have listed in your signature?

Yes, but they are installed in Larrivee guitars, which are superior in every way to the GS Mini (as good as it is for the price).

The ES2 is pretty decent *for a pre-installed system* but I would never install one on my own.

The ES2 works very well with a ToneDexter. I've got Taylors with ES2 and I've got a ToneDexter. Frankly, the ES2, IMHO, is about the best factory-installed system available and doesn't need support from external signal processors.

Tonedexter seems to work very well with soundboard transducers in general I bet Taylor's es1 and es2 would be no different. The only pickups I personally never had success with tonedexter was the Anthem SL and a Barbera Soloist. Tonedexter is an awesome preamp to own.

I don't remember exactly which thread this was in, but I do remember very clearly that James May (one of the developers of ToneDexter) said that he'd tested it thoroughly with the ES2, and it worked very well.
