Default Goodall Standard?

Anyone have any experience with a Goodall Standard guitar? My next acquisition will be a custom Goodall, either Trad Dread, Jumbo, or possibly Standard. It seems to be in between dread and jumbo specs, just not sure how it sounds. I'm still in my self-imposed 6 month break from guitar purchases so it's not an urgent issue.

My order right now would be:
Claro Walnut b/s
Sitka Spruce top
Abalone top/headstock binding
Bridge inlay (matching fretboard diamonds)

Any input appreciated.

I have played a couple different standard size Goodalls. To me, they are just a slightly larger version of ny CJ's. They really don't feel much different, and keep the distinctive Goodall sound. They are not shaped like a dread, so they don't have that same boxy feel to them that I get from my dreads.
And the Walnut, well I will agree with you 100% there. My newest Goody is a Walnut/Engelmann GC.

I played a walnut/sitka standard at Buffalo Brothers that was absolutely amazing. I would have bought it except I had recently purchased a guitar. It had a very deep resonant and warm tone. I think it was a good thing that I didn't find the walnut before the one I purchased as I think my musical tastes went in a different direction. Of course, perhaps if I had bought the walnut, my tastes would have gone that way ... I guess I'll never know. It's a combination that really works, though.

To me, the standard and Trad D sound VERY different.

The standard I remember playing a long time ago sounded very balanced, with a round sound and a nice chimey sounding top end.
Played well, i just did not think it had a lot of projection, could of been the strings though.
I thought it was a nice guitar. It was Indian rosewood and sitka.

The Trad D that I almost bought was very meaty, with a pronounced bottom end and it was quite the cannon. I thought it was one of the best dreads I've played. It was Indian rosewood, Adirondack.

My 2 centavos.

Very powerful! I believe the store I worked at still have two there. Redwood/Rosewood no cutaway, and a Sitka/Maple cutaway!

I have a rosewood/sitka standard. Its shape is very similar to a dreadnought except slighlty smaller and slope-shouldered. Very bold balanced sound, but it feels like a dreadnought, not like the narrower-waisted GCs and CJ's.

If you want to hear someone put a Goodall Rosewood Standard through its paces, check out Steve Baughman's CDs: A Drop of the Pure, and The Angel's Portion.

He is an amazing player!

I think his site is www.celticguitar.com

Thanks for all the input, I'm leaning towards a Standard or Jumbo. I'm guessing the Standard might be more comfortable to play given the dimensions. I'll check out the link JedimasterPaul, thanks.
