Default I'M DIEING OR I'M WATCHING TOO MUCH TV

Today while working in my office I had the TV on. Over the course of an hour, or so, I became convinced I have.....

RLS - Restless Leg syndrome, COPD - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease , ED - Erectile Disfunction (that got my attention), CFS - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, GERD- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (I burped), HIV - Well.... you know, IBS- Irritable bowel syndrome, JHD -Juvenile Huntington's disease (I'm in my 50's), MMRV -Measles, Colon Cancer, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (any one or all of them), All the various Arthritis (OA, RA, JA...), Swine Flu, Bird Flu, Mad Cow Disease, Crohn's Disease and Sickle Cell Disease.....and a Myocardial Infarction.....

While i was watching I had Angina, a separated retina (couldn't watch anymore), cramps, a panic attack, I wet my pants (I guess I need Depends) and my OCD kicked in because I found I can't take any medication for any of it -

The treatments cause - unconsciousness, blood in the stool, excessive urination, nausea, priapism (erection lasting longer than 5 hours) although in my younger days.........., rash, shortness of breath, blindness, kidney failure, liver failure, COPD, ED, GERD, IBS, RLS and - you guessed it - DEATH. I'm done. I've got to take a nap (CFS) before I call my doctor.

At least you aren't depressed, manic or have diabetic nerve pain. Can you still sleep at night, or do you have non-24 syndrome?

My favorites are "don't take this medicine if you're allergic to this medicine". Hmm.
And when "death" is one of the side effects.

I've always wondered who would take the drug that may cause, "sudden, uncontrolled, bowel movements."

A funny post that illustrates a real problem. We solved it by cutting the cable several years ago. I've since discovered that I don't miss commercial television, and that I can still read!😜

"Blow up your TV, throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try and find Jesus on your own
" - John Prine

I watched a lot of TV last year while down for knee replacements. There weren't many other options, between the pain meds, needing to keep the leg elevated, and not being able to properly hold a guitar. Dark times indeed.

TV time is far better spent playing guitar, petting kitties (or your dog), walking around the block, and about five hundred other superior activities.

Business as usual. The right 'care', along with ever-so-easy financing plans, is extended to every citizen without prejudice. No one is excluded!

Prolonged life due to Medicinal Science with lots of nasty side effects...that's what we have today.

mmm, here in the UK we don't have ads for prescription medications - that's down to the NHS ad your doctor's decision.

We DO see adds for painkillers, and for feminine hygiene products.

What worries me is ...why was the OP watching TV when he should have been working ???

Ha. Like most musicians, I work evenings and nights. Unless in the studio. It was early though and after the gym, I was catching up in the office/studio.

Pharma should stop advertising to the public. When did it become my job to ask my dr. for a specific drug? He/she is supposed to be the source of that decision. Bizzaro land.
