Default Looking for a strummer

I currently own a Boucher rosewood 000 and a handmade rosewood parlor.

I would like to add a mid-price (1000 to 1500 Canadian) jumbo or dreadnought to the team.

Here is an example of the type of tone I love:

Any suggestion? Right now it looks like I would have to go with maybe a higher end laminated back and side guitar which I'm not crazy about the idea since these guitars can be boomy to my taste.

My first thought was J-45 until I saw the price range. A J-15 would be a great fit too. I'd love to have one.

I'd go with a seagull artist series.

Or the Simon and Patrick Showcase series. Dreads in hog, maple, and rosewood.

I did not look into the simon and patrick because I hate the headstocks, but the showcase serie have superb headstocks!
Great suggestion!

I can't play your video right now, but I have one of these, it makes a great strummer, and in your price range when they put it on sale at $1,499 which happens several times a year. Sometimes referred to as the poor man's D-28.

A Martin MMV was mentioned. A Martin DSR is pretty similar. Think you might be able to get these in your price.

Suck up the wait time and order a Halcyon. Flavor of your choice. Get what you want and see if they will take payments while you wait. Send them a bit here and there.

I worked this out with my luthier during a year wait on a major repair job. Every so often I'd pop by with a couple hundred. When I picked up the guitar, I owed a hundred bucks.
