Default Any other "burst" fans out there?

If you'd asked me a couple of years ago if I liked bursts I'd have said, "Not really." Now here I am all in burst.

Wasn't supposed to happen. In fact, I've never bought a guitar because I wanted burst. I always buy based on tone and playability. But when I got a J-45 burst came with the territory. Same for the CEO 7. Then through a weird set of circumstances, I recently did a straight swap with a touring musician - my Gibson Songwriter for this sweet Taylor 712e - that saw the last non-burst leave the house.

Here's my burst herd. I guess that makes me a burst fan. You?

Two of mine are. Bourgeois Slope D and a Martin D-28 in the '35 Burst. Like the look on a big guitar, not as much on smaller bodies.

I'm a fan, but I don't have one...yet. That burst on your Gibson is top notch.

I'm a fan but one (my J-45) is all I would want. I would get bored looking at more than one. I like variety.

In 1977, seven years into my playing, I absolutely detested sunbursts. I wanted any color other than sunburst. But when I was hired into a hot band, needed a serious guitar, and could only afford a used one, all I could find was this:

I swore I'd trade it as soon as possible, but I slowly fell in love with it and still love it. Good thing! That particular sunburst color was only shot for a couple of years.

Yeah I got a thing for them too. Although they've gotta sound good or it's no deal. Not all of them I have, but the ones I play a lot.

Hey Rich, that's a pretty Martin!
