Eastman Antique Varnish Series?

I haven't heard any discussion about these, but they're featured in the 2017 catalogue.

Is it just an "acoustic relic job" or is there something to the vintage style violin finish worth noting?

I guess we will hear more about them when there in folks homes..In the one picture i saw they did LOOK interesting.
