'The Week Before Christmas'
Credit to my buddy Al Bien of Springfield Music, (Delaware County,PA)
Twas the week before Christmas and all through the store Not an item was selling and there on the floor Were drum sets, guitar packs and items galore The suppliers were threatening to ship even more. The drum sticks were nestled all snug in the rack Guitar strings, capos and tuners were stacked The phone wasn't ringing and the sales had been crap "Clara grab a smart eggnog, come sit in my lap" When out in the lot there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my stool to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tripped on my laces and knocked over the trash The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a Baptist Church Minister drawing quite near With a fistful of fifties and the promise of more He walked from his van to the front of my store. And mumbling and stumbling he came through my door And he cursed, and shouted, and stomped on the floor! "That BJ's! That, Target! That, Best Buy or K-Mart! That Sam Ash! Or Best Buy, or Ebay or Walmart! I've been to them one! I've been to them all! They can go away! Go away Go away all!" Their sales staff is clueless, they don't know a thing Their guitars need a setup, and they don't change the strings Good luck if it's broken and don't ask how things work Their service is worthless, the owners are jerks Then he said to me kindly, "you look rather pensive, Mind if I buy something large and expensive A keyboard, a flute, a sax and trombone I'd like to give this mangy bass a new home." He gave me some cash and a credit card too a check from the church and when he was through he yelled from his van as he drove out of sight "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
