Default Redwood

Yes, The Music Emporium is a dangerous place to visit. Thanks to Adam and the other fine folks at TME, I have a really nice new Bourgeois Custom Classic OM Redwood/EIR. It has double scalloped adi bracing and 2 tone bars that helps give the guitar nice fundamental tone with really strong harmonics. I did give up one very nice guitar to "make room" for the new one. Since TME takes pictures that are much nicer than I could ever hope to --- here are a few of their pictures.

The great news is I have this beautiful new guitar. The bad news is I dislocated my shoulder playing basketball and will be out of commission for a couple of weeks. I'm just trying to stay in the game...

Congrats, that's a beauty! Surprised that that is EIR. Looks way more like cocobolo or something else to me.

Very nice guitar. My first guess was cocobolo too, but lighting can sometimes add color that isn't as pronounced in person. In any event - what a beauty. Happy healing!

Best,
Jayne

That's a great-looking guitar, Paul. I love that shop. I had planned to be there playing some guitars last weekend, but I had recently bought one from Mandolin Brothers close-out, so I promised myself to lay off trying more for awhile. I had played a Bourgeois similar to yours at TME about 4 or 5 months ago, and really loved it, so I know you'll enjoy yours.

All the best,
Ray

Well your shoulder ought to feel a whole heck of a lot better pretty soon with that piece sitting underneath it. Wowee - lovely, lovely guitar!
Sorry about the shoulder.

Lovely guitar! I think you're going to love the redwood/Indian rosewood combination... tough break to hurt yourself just as you got a hold of this one... feel better very soon, and play that thang a LOT!!!

I don't know what's going on with the Indian rosewood lately... but I've seen 4 or 5 guitars that have this outrageous figured Indian rosewood, where prior to that I had only seen fairly straight-grained pieces. Although it LOOKS like it may be slab-cut, I don't believe it is... as I said, I've seen a number of other guitars with striking figuring, and they were all quarter-sawn... all I can guess is that SOMEONE found an outrageous Indian rosewood tree!!!

Give us an update when you've had a chance to spend a good amount of time with that one, would you?

Love it...
