Martin d-35 1971 fs/ft SOLD LOCALLY
For Sale OR Trade: MARTIN D-35 6-string acoustic dreadnought guitar and hardshell case (blue/gray fiberglass with blue felt interior). This is a relic from the past, a couple of years after Woodstock, when Nixon was president and the Viet Nam war was raging, not that anyone is still counting.
1971 model, serial no. 2935XX with plenty of the famous Martin tone and sustain that only a well-aged 44 year old acoustic Martin guitar can generate. Excellent for bluegrass, fingerpicking, folk style, flat pickers, rhythm and you name it! Bound ebony fingerboard, 1-11/16" nut width, patent pending Grover tuners, solid headstock, 1/4" bracing for greater soundboard vibrational tone, Standard series, replaced pickguard, beautiful signature 35 series 3-piece east Indian rosewood back (see photo) and EIR sides, a sitka spruce top that has turned an awesome golden brown with age, and much more. There is ordinary wear commensurate with its age, some light blemishes on the spruce top and around the sound hole (see photos), repaired pickguard b-string crack, and a replaced fingerboard binding segment. The back and sides, and neck are very clean. The neck appears to have been reset at some point in the past. SOLD LOCALLY! Trade preference is for another Martin guitar with cash either way. Are the nut and string spacing dimensions on these older D35s the same as on a newer D-35?
This is a really cool guitar! |

The Indian Rosewood used by Martin in the 1970's was spectacular.

Zoopeda, I believe they are the same.
Jas, you are absolutely correct. These 40+ year old Martins have fantastic woods. Thanks! SOLD LOCALLY. Thanks to everyone for their interests. |
