Mark Balash at Berkley Music Company in Berkley is excellent. Mike Koontz in Ferndale is another great guy. You'll have to wait for any work from either of them, they're that in demand. Depends on what you need to have done as to how long it will take. There are several other good techs in the area, but these two are the first I think of for work on my guitars.

Rench Guitar Works I believe is in that area. Check Mikes videos out on YouTube.

I'll second the recommendations for both of them. I've been dealing with Mike Koontz for over 30 years, mostly for my electric guitar needs. He has achieved a well deserved reputation in my neck of the woods and is a fair and honest guy. My only dealing with Mark Balash was a very positive one where a did a nice set-up on my OM-28.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them but you might have a bit of a waiting period.

A little drive (but well worth it), is Elderly Instruments in Lansing. Quite an experienced team of folks there. Then you can do some shopping while you're there.
