Default Stephen Kinnaird Bearclaw Sitka/Curly Koa SJ SOLD!!!

Here is an exhibition guitar that we took to the Memphis Acoustic Guitar Festival in June. We pulled out all the stops on this guitar. This is our SJ model which is the biggest model that we build giving you all the musical power that you will need!

We used our best sounding Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top and combined it with our best looking piece of Koa. The bindings, arm bevel, and bridge are Brazilian Rosewood which complements the tonewoods perfectly. An art nouveau rosette and design scheme make this a one of kind piece. We matched a new logo and a new label just for this instrument. A soundport is included to insure the player always has the best seat in the house. Paua and Tahitian black pearl make it always sparkle.

This guitar is made to be the centerpiece of any collection. It sounds so good that we considered keeping it for a shop display model, but this one needs to be played.

We asked $8500 for it at the show, but for the AGF we are selling it for $7490 including shipping CONUS and a custom Ameritage case. This guitar is a showstopper!

Key Stats:

Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top / Curly Koa back and sides
Brazilian Rosewood bindings, arm bevel, and bridge
25.4" long scale
1 3/4" nut spacing - 2 1/4" saddle spacing
5 piece laminated neck with curly Mahogany center
Gold EVO fret wire
Soundport
Art Nouveau rosette and design scheme with matching logo, backstrap, fretboard inlay, and label
Paua and Tahitian Black Pearl accents
Cosmo black Gotoh 1:18 with Ebony buttons
Custom Ameritage case with Kinnaird Guitars logo
Lifetime warranty on all construction

Here's some sound clips we recorded the day after it was finished. I can tell you that since then the guitar has opened up a lot. It has a very full sound that responds to a light touch. The bass is a deep well while the trebles are sweet and smooth. There is nothing brittle about the sound - it has a warmth that fills a room.

Thanks for listening!

Beautiful guitar, great sound, and fabulous workmanship, Steve!

David

PS - I still need to drive over and visit - it's been a few years since I've been to Nacogdoches but it's only a little over an hour away from BC, if I remember correctly.

Thanks David. Yeah to our shop would be pushing an hour and a half (we're about 7 miles south of town). But we would love for you to come by. We have an open shop every weekday afternoon. You could come play this one in person, plus it would be fun to hang out and give us a break.

What an outstandingly beautiful guitar. With the unique rosette, beautifully figured koa back and sides and the highly figured bear claw top, this one should really go fast, especially at that price. I have a few things going myself right now or I would be buying not just admiring.

Thanks Tom. A lot of great feedback on this guitar, I'm hoping someone snatches it up before it starts to do more than tempt me!

Just had to take another look at this guitar...It is just beautiful in every detail and the sound clips are great. Can't imagine how it must fill a room in person!

Kinnaird builds an absolutely wonderful instrument for those not familiar, world class!!!

Price drop to $7490 from $8150 for the holidays! This instrument opens up every time we play it. This would make a great gift to yourself for years to come!

Thanks Mike! This guitar has pushed two people over the edge to place orders with us, but it's still looking for its home. Someone is going to love it.

I would like to give this guitar a bump...I have recently taken delivery of a Kinnaird SJ myself and it is truly amazing. I would love to purchase this guitar for my own collection, but as I said, I just got my build so unfortunately money does not grow on trees, but I can tell anyone that this guitar will blow you away and the price is unbelievable for what you will be getting. Just listen to the sound clips especially at the end, the sustain is for days.

Someone will be getting not only a beautifully crafted handmade guitar, but a glorious sounding one as well. Would love to welcome someone to an elite club by owning a Kinnaird!!!!
