Default removable wooden pickguard

dear all,

i love the clean look of a guitar without pickguard in that i got it removed asap after collecting my 314ce koa.

but now i've come to appreciate how taylor's contour pickguard looks and complements the contours of the headstock, bridge and trc...

i was going thru bill nichols' website when i was searching for info about the custom trc that i saw a beautiful cocobolo pickguard.

that got me thinking of means of attaching a wooden pickguard that could be easily removed, to satisfy my both liking the pickguard on and off...

i was thinking of gluing (or double-side taping) the wooden pickguard to one of them ds custom's static pickguards... but i thought that if the bottom side of the wooden pickguard has a gloss finish, then it could easily attach to the static pickguard and then on to the guitar itself... any thots??

bill: i wonder if you could gloss finish the the pickguard??

regards

Hmmm.. interesting idea - Possibly the PG may be a bit too heavy to stay on though through static alone - It'd be worth a try though with a similar piece of wood though before you order one through Bill!

He does indeed do gloss finishes. His website has 1 or two PG's in gloss

Bolts and wingnuts???

Velcro???

Rubber Cement???

Sorry, nothing to really offer here. Use the above methods at your own risk.

I was thinking drywall screws. That would complement the neck attachment on the Baby and Big Baby.
