Davy Graham
Not the prettiest voice in the world, but man this is a maestro at work.

A poor (and ancient) recording, but Davy was the influence on the British folk scene. We all owe him a debt of gratitude.

This clip was excellent and just precipitated a whirlwind tour around many 'Folk Britannia' clips from the BBC programmes. Not for the first time, watching this magnificent stuff from the 50s to the 70s, I had the unyielding sense of having been born a few decades too late, hehe!
The blow is softened though as I am off to see Bob Fox tonight - one of the UK's finest in my opinion. Thanks for posting this Riahcrd1. Only problem is that I have been teaching myself to flatpick for the last few years but I watch this and want to feel the strings under my fingers again instead of that plazzy pick! |

He was a major influence on me in my teens. Not least because we share exactly the same name. A few people thought I was him. I had to learn Anji quick sharp!

Wonderful, both he and Archie Fisher don't get the credit they deserve. Davy was a great explorer and innovator on the guitar. Love him, the recordings with Shirley Collins are pure magic!
