Perfectly played. I love Bach and I would wish that I would overcome my lazyness to learn more music of this genius. Your interpretation motivates to give it a try again! Thanks!

I love your talent and interest in Bach, and I always want to post to say so, but kind of feel at a loss. My critique of your level of playing is not much use to you (although for some reason I liked the little string-damping move you did at about 1:00 in--probably basic classical stuff).

So, I decided before just saying it was good, to listen to other recordings of the song to learn the piece to see what exactly you were working with (e.g., Mischa Maisky doing it on cello). That led me to appreciate the song more, and to see what you were after.

First off, the song is so much more dramatic and dark on the cello--so much more emphasis on the bass notes in the piece, which really are not reachable with a guitar. So, what I think you did with the piece was to take on the melody itself much more directly and give the song a more upbeat, cheerful tone. I liked it!

There--an amateur review for you. Thanks for what you are doing!

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed this fun Bach dance on the guitar.
The cello is such a powerful and emotional instrument. In another life maybe I can learn that too.
