Default Compare Lava Cable Tightrope solderless to Lava Mini Elc kit

Has anyone used the newer Tightrope kit and/or compared it for sound and assemble to the older mini elc kit?
i have the elc cables on my pedalboard but over time it appears that some are requiring maintenance

There's a few threads from customers over on The Gear Page forum, if no one chimes in over here. I can see how the self-threading core could possibly provide a securer connection than available otherwise, but I could also see how, in thinning the core, it could leave it actually more susceptible to damage; wouldn't expect it, but I could see it as a possibility.

Apparent reliability of Tightrope after reading all that may be the tipping point for me in trying to decide between George L's and Lava for finalizing my own pedalboard.

Good luck in your own further research!

Don't know the tightrope but was going to buy lava or george L's but the guys at the shop that build a lot of pedalboards were raving about the "Free the Tone" solderless kits so I bought one and haven't had a problem with them in a year or so.

Interesting. I just went with the George L kit for my board. They work great, but I do like the looks of the FTT set screw design.

It's all on their website. Maybe click the "English" tab . Lots of links to dealers worldwide.
