Smile They start young, don't they?

I was playing last night and my nine year old daughter comes in.

"Love you, Dad."

"Love you too."

"I'd love you more if you didn't buy so many guitars."

I'm wondering if her mother put her up to this....

Send her to her room without dinner. No TV, phone or internet for a week.

You've got to nip this in the bud while they're young!

MAYBE...You're being set up.

MAYBE...She wants something that costs what she thinks/knows a guitar costs.

9 year old girls are devious little schemers; I was one once.

Good insights from amyFB.

How about getting your daughter a guitar, so she can share your love for music? Maybe a nice, smaller one, that you can play on the couch once in a while.

She has a 3/4 size Luna that she took some lessons on, but her main instrument is the fiddle. Her teacher says she has a pretty good ear, too. I'm pretty pleased that she's chosen to stick with it for almost three years now.

In that case, it would be interesting to know more about the motivation for her statement.

I hope her future husband isn't a future AGF member, for her sake...and his.

Might be a hint. They say the only difference between men & boys is the price of their toys. And I've seen many men neglect their responsibilities in favor of their toys. Perhaps guilty a few times myself. Only you and they know the real answer. Maybe time to reflect.

I smell a conspiracy. She is probably repeating something she heard. Yep, back to the man cave.

So was I...but back when I was 9 my folks couldn’t afford to buy me anything that costs anywhere near what a guitar cost. So they bought me records.
