Default How many of you spend hours on this forum?

I just started reading these threads again after a long layoff because I found myself spending a lot of time here...Now I'm semi retired and living off of my investments...still pretty young so I can do this but those of you at work...do you plant yourself here? LOL!

It's addictive I admit and some of the threads are very interesting...there are a lot of smart people who frequent this great forum!

But I have found that I have to on occasion "wean" myself away...

It's been months and I'm glad I'm back until it gets crazy again...

Hey Trek1500 welcome back, I visit this forum every day, have been since way back,2002 I'm hoplessly addicted, to acoustic and this forum is what did it it's my in home hobby. I spend roughly 30-40 minutes a day here.
I don't post much any more, I read alot and visit the for sale area much. I need to post a few for sale now. I'm just a closet played and a admirer of wood insturments.
Love Taylors and Martin. I've too many can't believe what my addiction has caused me to amass. Not a bad thing.
Gotta go... in process of buying back a Taylor I sold year an a half ago Haha .

Hi trek...

It sits open in my browser all the time, but I drop by three or four times a day (We're retired and do pretty much what we like when we like).

I enjoy fielding newbie questions, and chatting about some points of interest. I'll usually make one large post a day, and comment on 5 or 6, and maybe get into a discussion or two.

Glad for the iPad with Verizon connectivity when we travel.

I do, but generally not daily...actually, I go in spurts with lots of time off.

I spend a fair amount of time here and appreciate the forum and the large majority of the folks here. And yes, there ARE a lot of very smart people who take part here. Many times I am amazed at the high level of discussion here.

I am not retired, though I am 66. It's lunchtime at work for me right now. I intend to work a few more years before hanging up my spurs.

I find it MUCH easier to be here and talk (type) about playing guitars than to actually bother with trying to play them. Practicing is hard/ running my mouth (fingers) is easy.

I'm fully and happily retired. I check AGF several times each day. I've used the forum as my major guitar learning tool -- and being mostly home-bound I also enjoy the sense of community and common interest I find here. And there have been times when I've read every post on a certain thread. And there are certain members (you know who you are) whose posts I read no matter what the topic!

Haha! Ain't that the truth.
I'm probably not really here quite as much as it looks like tho'.
Often got it on a tab in the background and then forget I'm logged on.

Cool How many of you spend hours on this forum?

I have this site open and check back every so often, just to see if there are any threads I can contribute to. I enjoy helping people with their questions of all things guitar, and I enjoy the humor that many member interject into their comments.

And, one big advantage of spending time here on the AGF, it keeps me from looking for another guitar that I don't need! This forum has saved me a lot of money!

I also learn a lot from members with more knowledge or experience. I also spend some time doing "political" rants on another site (not allowed here), and I play scrabble on FB with my friends. And I do a lot of independent research, mostly about guitars, since I have purchased many books in 50 years of playing guitar. And, it's great fun!!!

And, I occasionally actually practice, or do upgrades, or repairs.

Glen

I am not retired and work way too much actually. That said I still find the time to check in here multiple times a day. Sometimes I post, sometimes I don't.
As spring and summer arrive I will spend less time here and more on the other forum I frequent (automobile enthusiast). Seems like, for me, guitar related stuff (forum reading, playing and whatever else) are more of a winter time activity.

I'm a college professor, so I don't work a nine to five job, and I look at AGF maybe twice a day. The exception to that is when I'm out of the country for a couple of months, as I am every summer, and then I look a lot more often.

Based on the stats at the main page it seems I'm on here far too often.

I used to spend a LOT of hours here, until they've cut the pages down to 8. So, now I just read through the 8 pages of topics just once a day.
