Default A Waltz flatpicked

This a tune called Midnight on the Water. It's kind of a hard tune to flatpick with no accompaniment and still sound reasonably decent, but here it is. The guitar is a Ken Miller dreadnaught, Brazilian rw b/s and adi top.

Very nice rendition. I think the first time I heard that tune was a version by David Bromberg. Listening reminds me how much I liked it and may have to add it to my own playlist.

That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I play the simple version in I had for a lesson from the fiddler's fakebook. It does sound better played with others. Love the old Bromberg version.

That was beautiful, Allen -- and the Miller wasn't half bad either.

I always think of the Bromberg band version too - Last year I worked really hard to work out a version on dobro - and found it difficult so worked it our on a mandolin (it's a fiddle tune after all) then found it easy to transcribe (in my head) to Dobro. Then the band dropped the mando player and we dropped the number !

Thanks for the kind words. I had not heard the Bromberg version actually, so I went and found it. It's nice. I do prefer the version I learned from though, which is Mark O'Connor's version on his Pickin' in the Wind Album, recorded when he was 14 years old. Here is a link to that version.

Never heard this tune, but I can dig it!

Great performance by you on one hell of a nice guitar.

Thanks Steve. Keep at it, you'll get there. It's a fun tune to play, so it gets easier as you go.
