LR Baggs M80 Questions
I just pulled the trigger on one of these new Baggs Sound Hole Pickups the M80. I'm curious if people here have used them and how do you like them? I watched the videos on the baggs web site and it looks like a winner.
Has anyone attempted to use it temporarily in a guitar out of the front of the sound hole. Not installing the end pin and removing it from the sound hole when you were done? I'm curious if I will be able to use it in the fashion or if it will cause grief. I've never been a fan of the look of a sound hole mounted pickup but I know they can sound great. I'm going to try using it on my Goodall for now and if I like it enough I may have it permanantly installed.

You can certainly run it without a permanent install. Cable right out the front will be fine. It takes some getting used to, but I have learned to carefully place it into my sound hole without having to remove the strings.

did you get your M80 and if so, what's your take on it? |

I got one several months ago and it is fine but there is no mistaking that it is a magnetic pickup. Hard to dial in the EQ for a really nice acoustic sound. Instead, I just accept the tone for what it is.

Same for me. It's a compromise with the sound. Better feedback resistance, easy to install/remove but not really what I call an acoustic sound...
