Default I've Arrived - 4G

The worst thing about moving from Richmond to the wilds of Albemarle County in 2011 was sacrificing high-speed internet for a Verizon hotspot in my home. We'd gotten 4G coverage, and my hotspot became luke-cool so I decided to upgrade. I just got a Verizon 4G Quantum Fusion system installed, and I'm as happy as Gallagher at a Farmers' Market, and it will be $20 cheaper/month than my previous service...

The think about living in the sticks is that there is a limit to the amount of ISPs in the area. There is basically a monopoly, so you end up getting pounded.

I still like living in the sticks though.

I do too, but had gotten used to really, really slow internet speeds. As a result, I'm just amazed as to how fast this thing moves along now....

A 4G system provides mobile ultra-broadband Internet access, for example to laptops with USB wireless modems, to smartphones, and to other mobile devices.

Ouch! FWIW I was told while trying to set up my new iPod that my former 3G system was on a par with dial-up....

4G is a faster 3G cellular network, but it's goal is to be used for more interwebz than anything else.

Also, there is no standard for 4G, so all cellular companies will vary their speeds. LTE is the same as 4G, as some companies choose not to confuse real standards with fake ones (I'm surprised my self).

I don't have a phone capable of 4G, but I also am one of few who don't use my cell much other than for calls/texts.

You're using 4G for your wireless internet though? Crazy, and even crazier to see that's it's cheap!
