Default advice on this trade offer.... pulling my hair out.

so i have an 07 Gibson les paul classic and a fender american standard tele. I have been offered a martin d28 and a larrivee d50 for both of them. would you do such a deal....?

what's your thoughts on those acoustics?

What year d-28 and which specific variation? At first glance sounds plausible and even good.

Couple of sweet electrics, but also a couple of sweet acoustics, if I were in your shoes I would do it, depending on the condition of the acoustics.

It is a fair to good deal for you. It just depends on if you want those two guitars or not. Very reasonable trade going both directions.

How much to you like them electrics. Both are great guitars, and the acoustics are also both great guitars. I would want to check blue book value on all of them before I pulled the trigger, but it certainly seems at first glance that your trading quality for quality.

that's the question... if you are primarily an acoustic player it is an easy "yes." If you're primarily an electric player and those are your main guitars, then "no."

if it was me, then "yes"

I'd be likely to keep one of the electrics, and trade for one of the acoustics, if they're both dreadnoughts. Sounds like a fair deal otherwise.

Trade the tele for the martin! You can get a good cheap tele but you don't get good cheap les Paul's..

i was thinking the same thing -Im not into larrivees D-50's- thou their not a bad guitar .It all depends on the condition of the acoustics as well as the electrics -I like Martins and i like Les pauls . They make a nice set.

I own a hd28 and my buddy has a new lari of some sort.. not a cheap one. Very good sounding guitar not as balanced as the Martin but years down the road let's see what one will still be worth a good $1500..

Condition of the acoustics apply to the decision. Do they need neck sets, cracks repaired, have the bridges been shaved, lose braces, etc? A lot more can go wrong with a D28 than a solid body LP.

I'd have the acoustics looked at to make sure you're not gonna be on the hook for $1,500 worth of repair work.
