I had always like Gibson's and I was disappointed at first when I tried the Songwriter Deluxe. I went ahead and tried the same guitar on my second trip to the guitar store and I told the sales associate to change the strings to some elixirs. Well guess what ...I knew this was my guitar and i went ahead and bought it. GIBSON do roar like a lot of you had mentioned. I tried a TAYLOR Grand Acoustic but it didnt have that loud voice of a Songwriter. I am so happy with my purchase....

Welcome to the club, the Songwriter is one of Gibsons best acoustics IMO.

Glad you put on a new set of strings, they need bright or relatively fresh set of strings to unleash that lions roar !

Enjoy, hope you get many wonderful years with her !

cheers.

I picked my SWD from a search of dozens of mid to higher end guitars.

It simply played and sounded the best....to me.

Enjoy.

I totally agree with you...I tend to strum more than fingerpicking. I tried the Taylor Grand Acoustic which was pretty good but $500 more than my budget. I am happy with the songwriter!

Congrats! Nice choice. And an interesting choice considering your original search images. Funny how that works.
