Fender G-dec 30 amp, any thoughts?
Anyone know about these amps? I'm hoping it will be a good learning too, timing, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Not completely alone. I just ordered and am anxiously awaiting a G-DEC Blues model http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/p...Amp?sku=423443. I'm really excited about getting this thing to help me learn and play along with various blues tracks/performers.

I owned a G-DEC and didn't care for it compared to the Korg Pandora or my JamMan looper as a practice tool. The amount of work needed to make a track a whole progression was too much. Newer models have more software function so that might be better but you still can't use it in all the ways you can use the Korg Pandora.
If this is about a practice tool spend a little time looking at all the Pandora will do keeping in mind anything from headphones to an amp with computer and a radio in between can be your output. I use the software on both Mac and Windows to manage (program?) it instead of all the little buttons. www.korgpandora.com for an often misunderstood and very much under appreciated product, and you won't be powering your G-DEC with a pair of AA batteries.

I had an earlier model G-DEC 30 that I liked. It had backing tracks of MIDI files that gave you drums and/or bass lines to play against. It was pretty good. But I recently traded that one for the newer G-DEC 3 Thirty that uses WAV and MP3 files as well as MIDI files for backing tracks. It also takes an SD memory card that you can store files on and can hook directly to your computer for editing and recording. This is a much improved model. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the info friend. I very new to electrics, semi new to acoustics. Had them for years, but only recently got serious about it after retiring from the fire department. Better late than never right? A lot of this amp stuff is way over my head but the g-Dec was used and priced very reasonable. I hope to gain some skills by using it. We shall see, but boy it sure is fun. Acoustic is my love, but I'm always willing to experiment. I can certainly see me upgrading amps very soon. Thanks again.
