Hand Made Hand Played by Robert Shaw - a great book!
I'm not sure if this book has been mentioned here. So, if it's been widely talked about, than please just consider this another praise of a really cool book.
Santa brought me "Hand Made Hand Played - The Art & Craft of Contemporary Guitars" by Robert Shaw and it's a great book. It has some very nice photos and descriptions of some wonderful guitars, including some of kind luthiers that frequent and support the AGF. I've really enjoyed reading it so I wanted to recommend this book to all that are looking for an enjoyable book to admire the craft of these extremely talented artisans. Here's a link on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Hand-Made-Play...4579730&sr=8-1 Kindly, Danny |

It's a very nice book, but there are a lot of textual errors -- such as descriptions of a completely different guitar from the one being shown. I've read it all, and even with my limited knowledge i found many significant errors. Mr. Shaw did a poor job of proofreading. A real pity, because it could have been a gorgeous and informative book.

He got my guitar right. I think it's a very nice book, but I didn't go over it for proofreading errors. It's a coffee table book, not a textbook.
