Gday Friend ..... They are all good ... the GS comes with medium strings and I think lights do not drive the top as well , so If you play medium strings no prob ... I personally like the GA size because you get a pretty big sound and its comfortable ... just fits me better ... havnt had the pleasure to play a GC so i cant comment .... If I had the extra doe I think the GC would make a great couch guitar ..... cant go wrong with a taylor

There's not a bad choice to be made. I have the GS7 and the GC4 but if I only had one it would probably be the GA. It can handle most anything you throw at it...

If you do fingerstyle the GC series are good, with a wider nut and bridge spacing, and short scale. They can handle strumming decently.

I've been trying to decide the same thing. I only do minimal finger picking, so I've ruled out the GC for myself, but if that's your main deal it might not be a bad way to go. I haven't evaluated them extensively though.
The GS is a great strummer. It has bass response and volume like no other, really in your face sound. But I was playing a GS5e this weekend (cedar/mahogany) and it's pretty responsive to finger picking as well. But as I've seen others caution in other threads, more bass and louder volume doesn't necessarily mean better. The GA may be a good fit for you. You can strum it plenty and it's good for finger picking, depending on the wood combination. That opens up a whole new topic though, even within each body style you can get a very wide range of tones appropriate for different styles by picking different wood combinations. But if you want a guitar that does it all, you probably can't go wrong with a GA. |

Of course this is all personal opinion, so here's mine: if you're looking for one do-it-all guitar (i.e. fingerstyle and light-medium strumming) as you suggest, the GA is the way to go.

I own all three models and, based upon how you describe your playing style, I would lean toward the GA. If you do a lot more strumming and a little fingerstyle, I would lean toward the GS. If your style is primarily fingerstyle with just a little light to light/medium strumming, then the GC works fine.
Now comes the harder question -- What wood combination?

You're going to order on-line again without trying a single one of them aren't you, groove? Like the Gc31 and Tak g128?
Well - good luck! |

Well, based on this very limited information, I would suggest a GA. However, I love the GC size myself (so comfortable). That doesn't mean that you might not be happy with a GS even though it is a lot larger than a GC and bigger than a GA. Try them first to determine the size you are comfortable with. The GA tends to be known as a great all-around guitar for fingerstyle and strumming.

If you are paying attention the the varying answers here, you may have come to realize that there is no "right answer".
That's why so many folks keep telling you on the various threads to play the guitars you are considering to discover what YOU like.
