Would you do this trade?
I have a Taylor 714ce Ltd that a local dealer will take in trade for his new Gretsch 6120 in flame amber. The Gretsch has been sitting at the dealer for 1 1/2 years and he's willing to make a trade.
My other acoustic are: Gibson J45 and Taylor 312ce.

I wouldn't, but I love Taylors and don't like Gretschs. It's up to you -- what will you play more and love more?

Moneywise
Street value-wise I would say you're about even at about 2k ea. I would say your Taylor will be easier to sell than the Gretsch, though. Way more popular guitar and in higher demand. Guitarwise All depends on how bonded you are to the Taylor vs how smitten you are with that Gretsch. Of course, this is all just my humble opinion. Your milage may vary. |

Tarpman, the guitar he is talking about is a 6120AM. It's also known as the "prom quenn" due to it's great looks & tiger maple. I have one & love it.

better yet...see if he's rather have a 710ce engleman top...I'll trade it to you and give you $100 boot, you'll trade him the 710 for the Gretch and you'll have an extra $100!!!!!.....how's that sound. I love my 710ce but I really really want the 14 size!!!

Do you need an electric guitar? If you do, then I'd say "Go for it!"

Would I do it? Prolly not. A good acoustic is harder to find than a good electric. Is the Gretch made in the US, or overseas? You may consider that.
