Default Dave Matthews & Taylor

I know that Dave Matthews plays Taylor almost exclusively in concert now, or at least the majority of the time - 914c's it seems.

Questions (Maybe Bob Taylor can chime in here?):

1. Are these stock Taylors he is playing, or are they custom made for Dave? Is he working with Bob or someone there to make them to a specific spec? What _is_ his relationship with Taylor?

2. What year and specs is he playing? Does he have any with the new neck etc.?

Thanks!
Bill

I'm pretty sure he uses a nicely appointed 714c that has abalone/pearl rosette and binding to look nice. He also uses a W65.

There was a thread a while back about someone hoping that Taylor wasn't doing something specifically for Dave b/c it wasn't Taylor's style to offer something to one person/musician/celeb, and not offer the same thing to all of us. Maybe try searching it because I think it was in regards to Dave Matthews.

busted stuff as well, but that's not in B, it's in something else....can't remember what off the top of my head though cause it's can be played in standard tuning just as easily....

He has several 914c's that he plays now, along with his stock of standard 714s, and the w65s...

The w65s are standard 2000 model years with the old 900 series inlays and the abalone trim.

The 914cs are a few different things...I believe one is a 2000 model florentine cutaway, one is a 2000 model venetian cutaway, and one is a 2001-2 model with the new inlays and a venetian cutaway.

Ryan i think the 914c with the florentine cutaway is an older model. Probably 97' because it has the wider rosette.
