Default My new R Taylor (Style 1) - lots of photos

After two months of anxiety and nail biting It has finally arrived.

This is the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned. To me at least, it's very elegant and classy. I wanted guitar with no bling, and not lot of different colors. I even had them put in ebony/rosewood rosette so it matches binding and the back. That to me gave ti seamless look.

Clips are coming soon.

Here are full specs. Bold are upgrades that I've paid extra for.

Back and Sides: East Indian Rosewood
Bracing: Modified X with Adirondack bracing
Top geometry: 65'
Fretwire: Jascar Alloy
Strap Pin: yes
Tuner buttons: Ebony

Nut width: 1 3/4
Neck profile: Slim Carve
Binding: Ebony
Headstock Overlay: Ebony
Truss Rod Cover: Standard ebony
Cutaway: Florentine
Rosette: Ebony rosette to match binding, neck and headstock
Electronics: No electronics
Inlay: no fretboard inlay or dots. Plain ebony fretboard.

Wow ...HUGE CONGRATS!!!

Your aesthetic choices really give is a "pristine" and "pure" look ...love it! Bling is nice, too, but yours is the total opposite end of the spectrum. The ebony rosette echoes your "theme" and the overall effect is stunning. Not to mention the top looks perfect. And Florentines are gorgeous ...ok, I could go on and on...

Enjoy in great health, man. She's a real winner. BTW, shall I assume she sounds as amazing as an RT should?

Edward

Thanks for the comments!

She does sound amazing. Even in my small carpeted room, sustain is just endless. I a/b it against my 514ce and it's night and day. Sound wise and construction wise. I can tell huge jump in tone, sustain and bass. The most surprising thing to me was its balance, going from string to string. Perfect volume and sustain on each string.

Congrats! Yes, that looks like a real 'player's guitar'. I'm sure it sounds fantastic.

+1

In my youth I thought the D-45 look was for me. Now I'm drawn toward the nothing-extra/nothing-missing aesthetic. Your guitar nails it.

It doesn't hurt that it has some of the darkest Indian Rosewood I can recall. It contributes to the overall formal look, in contrast to, say, my Lowden O-10, whose unstained mahogany gives it a preppy, khakis/saddle shoes/sweater vibe.

Finally! Now THAT'S a guitar! If you like the sound now just give it a few days to start loosening up and you won't believe what you start hearing.

Can't wait. I am planning to play the heck out of it in the next few weeks. With pick and flesh. Already told wife to get used to not seeing me around as much

Thumbs up

I didn't expect it...the wood rosette is fantastic! I love green heart abalone, but
this is stunning. I'm a Florentine cutaway fan, so....
Congrats!!!
