Default Is chocolate-coated cheese soon to arrive?

A fine, age-old British tradition sold to Kraft...

Cadbury agrees to $20.5 billion takeover bid

Ah well... Kraft owns the Aussie icon Vegemite too.

Indeed there is; I saw it on YouTube

And chocolate + cheese isn't so weird; you guys have never had / seen chocolate cheesecake? Mighty fine stuff, once in a blue moon; it's pretty decadent stuff. If made correctly, that is!

I certainly hope the Cadbury recipe isn't sullied by the takeover ... that's some good stuff!

Is Cadbury's chocolate widely available in America? Last time I was there, the only place you could get it seemed to be in the British area of Epcot!

I wouldn't say "widely available" but you can find it all over. We do get it out here on the left coast. I remember Cadbury ads on TV when I was a kid in the 60s, but it has never been a big seller in this country.

I thought Cadbury was already owned by a US company, or was it the other way around.

And Vegemite, well, at least no one can ruin that!

Probably not. If there were going to be a market for chocolate-covered cheese, it would probably already exist in North Dakota, Wisconsin, or Minnesota.

As far as I can tell, the chocolate-covered bacon is a bit of a publicity stunt, but I do know that a North Dakotan delicacy is chocolate-dipped potato chips. They're very popular around Christmas time.

I have been to a Wisconsin cheese store that sold chocolate cheese. I hear it's actually pretty good. And at the MN state fair, they do have chocolate covered bacon. I hear that is pretty good as well.

Our local chocolatier [Hoffman's] makes some awesome chocolate dipped pretzels. Something about that crunch and a little bit of salty to go w/ the choccolate ... mmmMMMmmmmm

This thread is derailing ... sorry!!

I see it around. I grew up in Pennsylvania where Hershey's chocolate was popular. But I was never a fan of that type of chocolate. I liked Cadbury and was always able to find it in Pennsylvania. More a fan of licorice and jelly beans these days. But occasionally I'll get some super dark chocolate that should probably be illegal because of the caffeine and fat content. But I justify it because the nutritional info says that the fiber content is higher... for whatever reason... probably tree bark and parrot feathers in it.
