History
A couple hundred yards from our house, is the old Randall Farm (1770’s). Its all woods now, long gone. There’s a pond over there, its frozen now, the dog and I took advantage, walked over the pond to explore sections of woods we normally don't get to. There had to have been a Bar or “Speak Easy” there. We found 100’s of cool bottles, hard liqior bottles and jars dated 19...34, 1936, etc. Brought a couple home, going to clean them up and decorate the yard with them.

That's very cool. My brother was a bottle collector for a while. The colored ones look great on window sills.
I live on the site of the Revolutionary War Battle of Kemp's Landing. Lord Dunmore (John Murray, the 4th Earl of Dunmore), the last Royal Governor of Virginia, had fled Williamsburg after the colonists virtually laid siege to his Governor's mansion. Operating from a British warship, HMS Fowley, he put ashore a group of 100 British Regulars and 50 militia near the Great Bridge in Princess Anne County and began marching towards Norfolk. The local militia got word of the march and organized an ambush of 170 men at Kemp's Landing. Unfortunately, the colonial militia botched the ambush by firing too soon and the disciplined British Regulars ran them off into the swamp. Dunmore took Norfolk and its Gosport Shipyard, but was forced to leave a few weeks later when he lost the battle of the Great Bridge. The upshot? I live in a bloody swamp. Bob
