saving Youtube stuff
If you are a Firefox user, Google Firefox add ons and you can get an ad on button that shows up when you watch Youtube. Basically, you click next to the button to select what format you want to save the video, and tell it where on your computer you want to save it, and it's that simple. I saved my first couple on my desktop, and they open really fast, as in 2 seconds! (Mine uses Media Player)
I am going to make folders for different kinds of videos for practicing and learning. |

Thanks for sharing. I recently passed on this same tip to a member as well.
There are quite a few different Firefox add-ons for video. My favourite is this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006 If you don't have firefox, you can always use a web-based service like: http://www.savevid.com In either case, make sure you choose the higher-quality versions of the video (mp4) if they're available.

For those who dont use Firefox, theres a handy program called "Free Studio" by DVDVideoSoft that lets you download videos to your computer, or save the audio from youtube vids as mp3's so you can listen on your mp3 player or burn to CDs, as well as converts video formats, etc.. its completely free with no adware or anything at http://dvdvideosoft.com/free-dvd-video-software.htm

I learned in a class I took this summer that you can just insert the word "kick" in front of the word "youtube" in the URL and it will also let you download videos...

I didn't know about these, thanks for sharing! I'm on a mac, and I've been using a free safe-downloadable program called Miro - you can use it to download youtube videos and torrents too

Some Googleing turns up mixed information. I still can't figure out if it's bad, or if it's a fair compromise for getting free software. So, just be aware that you might be getting a little extra with the install.
