Default Great Lesson I Learned From Dad.

Every day, make it a point to go out of your way to do something nice for someone. Be it something very small or very large, when I go to bed each night, it makes me feel very good about myself. If you have never done that, try it & you will like it.

My Dad taught me not to pee into the wind.

That's a core Dale Carnegie principle. Great advice from Dad.

I loved my Dad, and miss him. He was a truly great father.

Among the many things he taught me was how to swim, resourcefully. Took me out in the middle of the lake and threw me out of the boat, telling me it was time to sink or swim. I chose to swim, and I'll always be grateful.

Of course, the hardest part was getting out of that sack...

Same way I learned - except we were in a river! (There was a sandbar not too far downstream, though.)

And of course, we absolutely had to try sticking our tongues on frozen flagpoles - we didn't believe our Moms when they told us it would rip our skin off.

We spent a lot of time with our boys as they grew up into adulthood ... doing the coaching/volunteering stuff etc. We are now getting payback in that they find time for us at least once a week. And, they're pretty cool adults
