Default Recommend Easy Song to Play

Along with the tab somewhere. Right now I'm working on Stairway to Heaven and Yesterday, but I need something new. Tears in Heaven is actually the only song I can play the whole way through.

"Blackbird" by the Beatles. It's easy, sounds great, is easily recognizable, and isn't nearly as laughable as "Stairway to Heaven."

"Long May You Run" by Neil Young. It's easy chords, but quick changes, which will be good for you to practice.

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot, three easy chords, cool sounding.
Dylan songs aren't that difficult. Try Knocking on Heaven's Door, Blowing in the Wind, Times They Are A Changing, etc.
Neil Young has some songs that aren't that hard, and sound great.
Hank Williams and Johnny Cash aren't too difficult.
My rule: if I can play it, it must be easy.

Lots of relatively easy, catchy stuff out there. Knowing your age and musical preferences would help
Must it involve vocals?

MMA,

I'd actually prefer it to be an instrumental. I don't ever sing.

Green Day's Time of your Life: Good Riddance is a nice easy fingerpicker. Tab is easily found with a Google search

I'll add to this "Heart of Gold".

In my experience "easy to play", "instrumental, no singing" and "sounds good" is not the simplest thing to find. If you want it to be fingerstyle instead of strumming your choices get kinda thin.

Ed Gerhard's No. 11 is not that difficult for a fingerstyle piece. I can play it passably and I'm not all that. It's not too fast, it's in an open tuning (FACGCE) so you're hitting lots of open notes, it repeats segments so that you end up with a long song but only have to learn about five segments, and it's a great song. He also has one - Red Mountain Serenade - that is not too difficult. To me, Ed is a "lyrical" writer, not a "power" player like, say, T. Emmanuel or D. Dykes. Several of his songs are accessible to us mere mortals.

He has a songbook/cd "Selections from Night Birds and Luna" that has both those songs. It's a MelBay book; might check his website as well.
